Outlook has been very sluggish and in fact makes my whole pc sluggish.
Recently when trying to do a search of my emails I got an error that it couldn't access the .pst file due to a cyclic data redundancy. Is there a way to fix this? It was actually happening earlier and I uninstalled it and bought a fresh copy and reinstalled. Any thoughts appreciated (well good ones at least ![]() |

It looks like the PST file has gone corrupt. You could possible use a third
party tool to restore data -- Regards Raul Thomas wrote in message oups.com... Outlook has been very sluggish and in fact makes my whole pc sluggish. You might want to run chkdsk /r from a command prompt to see if your disk has some bad sectors.

Recently when trying to do a search of my emails I got an error that
it couldn't access the .pst file due to a cyclic data redundancy. Is there a way to fix this? I have never seen this but after a quick search this might be KB 319128. Have you tried making a backup copy of the .pst and then running the scanpst.exe tool on it. Benjamin Gay [MSFT] This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights |

Milly is right. This is the result of bad sectors on the harddrive where the
PST is located. Run the command Milly suggested and then use scanpst.exe to try and correct any errors in the PST file - you may have to run it multiple times. http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/crcerror.htm -- Kathleen Orland Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ http://www.howto-outlook.com/ "Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: You might want to run chkdsk /r from a command prompt to see if your disk has some bad sectors. --Â Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
