There is a BUG in Outlook 2007 build 12.0.4518.1014.
I have TWO profiles, and very often when I start with the non-Default one, and then close it and restart Outlook 2007, I no longer have a choice to select which profile to start it with. The only way to fix that is to go Task Manager, and manually kill OUTLOOK.EXE and then restart it. Then, it works fine. They need to FIX this annoying problem. I tried finding where I can submit a bug report, but could not find anything of sorts on their website. P.S. I am running Vista Ultimate together with this setup. |

Anything prevents that Outlook closes correctly (the task "outlook.exe" still appears in the task manger after closing Outlook). It might be an add-in that causes the problem. Go to the Trust Center in Outlook and deactivate all installed add-ins and see if Outlook closes correctly. If yes, the request which profile you want to start should appear again. Hi Chris,
The only non-Microsoft add-in that I can see there is my Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6 (the very latest version). And I really don't think it's causing it. All other add-ins are all Office 2007 or Microsoft related. - Michael "Christian Goeller" wrote in message ... It should easy enough for you to find out by disabling it.

I have TWO profiles, and very often when I start with the non-Default one,
and then close it and restart Outlook 2007, I no longer have a choice to select which profile to start it with. This is by design. You will only be prompted for a profile if this is the first instance (ie there is not another instance of Outlook.exe running.) and you have prompt for profile selected. I think the real issue here is what is causing Outlook to not close in a timely manner. You might want to check to see if you have any other add-in's that are still running.
