Default Rules storage location after profile corruption

My profile became corrupted last week and I backed up all of my files
to a separate folder, deleted my account, created it again, and copied
the files back. I forgot to back up my Outlook 2007 rules, however.

My rules have to be stored somewhere without having to back up to
a .rwz file. I see that Outlook Express stores their rules in the
registry. I also see that Outlook 2007 might store its rules in
the .pst file. If that's the case, I need to get them back out again.

Can anyone tell me where the Outlook 2007 (non-Exchange) rules are
stored during runtime? And if they are stored in the .pst, how can I
get them back out? They didn't load when I added my .pst back into
Outlook.

Rules are stored in a hidden folder in your .pst file. To get them back, open that .pst file in Outlook and make it the default information store.
