I have recently upgraded from 2003 to 2007 and I am finding Outlook to be
ridiculously slow. It seems impossible to carry out any task while
downloading emails (ie cannot read one email while downloading others) which
was possible with 2003. If I forget and try to do something it hangs and i
have to close everything down and start again. Every time I open Outlook it
automatically goes to retrieve mail so I cannot even consult my diary. Have I
got it set up incorrectly?

You probably didn't create a new Profile after installation. I believe that
the Microsoft developers dropped the ball here. The new installation should
have been seamless. You can get detailed instructions on how to create a new
