Default Outlook Profile Configuration

Hello,

We have remote users who swtich workstations quite a bit. Is there s script
or some other way, without using roaming profiles, to configure outlook on a
workstation without going through the wizard?

Thanks

David Mahler

You can use newprof.exe with a PRF file as described he
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...379911033.aspx

You can also use third-party tools like PolicyMaker from Desktop Standard to
create profiles using Group Policy.

NewProf only works for Outlook 2000 and earlier, BTW.

Newprof, profgen, modprof, ODW, OMW, whatever. Get the matching version of
the ODK and you'll find the right tool.

You can give them a PRF file to run. You can create such .prf files with the Custom Installation Wizard or Custom Maintenance Wizard tools in the Office Resource Kit. For more details, including a variety of .prf deployment methods, read the excellent white paper "Configuring Outlook Profiles by Using a PRF File" at http://office.microsoft.com/search/r...60 I&respos=3

The page at http://www.slipstick.com/exs/olroam.htm includes information on other profile tools and resources.
