Stating that the user has one unread e-mail occurs.
I recently deleted one user from the system and deleted one account of mine
to add another. At the time I deleted them I didn't think any were unread.
How do I get rid of this message.

Milly the danged thing keeps coming back.
It's for an account that I removed over two months ago I tried deleting the
entire key and searching the registry for all other keys associated with
that e-mail account and deleting them all after every boot they come back.
I tried adding that key and setting the other from one to zero and that
worked for a day, but the next day it is set back to one. It's not a big
problem just an annoyance, because the account in question was deleted as
the result of a divorce.

Here's what I had to do to fix it. After adding that registry setting
suggested I did a search of the entire registry for that deleted e-mail
account and found another setting under HKEY_USERS and had to add the
setting for MessageExpiryDays to it also. For some reason the keys if I
deleted them came right back which leads me to think it is stored in a file
other than the registry which updates the registry. Outlook after deleting
a set of e-mail account settings doesn't clean up after itself very well.

The HKEY_CURRENT_USER tree gets loaded from the HKEY_USER tree of the peson
who's logging in and WIndows keeps the two trees in sync to that changes
made to the active user get written back to the person's windows profile for
the next time that person logs in. Perhaps that's why you saw what you did.
