Default Outlook 2007 missing the TaskPad

Hello!

I just upgraded from Office 2003 Pro to Office 2007 Enterprise. Outlook 2003
had a "TaskPad" that I could put to the right of my calendar and its
contents matched the "Tasks" items in Outlook's "folder list" view. I wanted
it there so I had a reminder of tasks that need to be done.

Now, I have this wonderful "To-Do Bar" in Outlook 2007 that has TWO of my 17
tasks showing at the bottom of the To-Do Bar, with a ton of other items
above them. Those other items I figured out are mostly emails that I have
flagged with different color flags. I did that in my emails so I could mark
them with certain levels of importance. They did NOT show up in my Outlook
2003 TaskPad, which was good, but now Outlook 2007 shows them and I cannot
get rid of them. After much digging, I found that the two tasks that show in
the list are ones that have a due date. The ones that do not have a due date
are mixed in with the two dozen or so emails that have flags by them.

How can I regain the TaskPad view that I had with Outlook 2003, other than
by removing Outlook 2007?

This To-Do Bar is a PITA compared to the TaskPad. Perhaps the flags are not
intended for the use I give them, but it was working just fine in Outlook
2003.

Thank you for your help!

Here's the standard response to these types of issues from Sue Mosher:

Outlook 2007 does not support that arrangement. If you have a retail version
of Office/Outlook 2007, I suggest that you file a support incident on this
issue. This is the best way to let Microsoft know that there's something
lacking in the application. Unlimited support for Office/Outlook 2007 is
free for the first 90 days after activation. See
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/vista_supoffnew for more information on this
support policy.

Judy,

I took a nap for a few hours, then looked at it again. By adding a due date
of 12/31/07 to each of my tasks they showed up in the To-Do Bar. Then I
collapsed the "No Date" section and I have my functionality back. It is not
as clean as it was since I have to hide the "No Date" section to do it, but
at least I can see my tasks so I can properly put off doing them.

Now I have to wait for Motorola Phone Tools to be compatible with Outlook
2007. I get an error regarding the "outl97.dll" add-in every time I start
Outlook 2007. I just removed the add-in, but now I have to sync my phone via
my laptop. I contacted Motorola, too.

Now to go see if I can get my calendar to show which appointments have the
little alarm icon for appointments with reminder alarms. Some of the things
they took away were good to have.
