When I have a message in my inbox and I know it's spam, I create a rule but
it doesn't show the domain by default, is there a way to easily locate the
domain of the offending email so that it can be incorporated in the rule?

Right-click, choose Options , and examine the headers or open the message,
click ViewOptions, and examine the headers, or open the message,
right-click the sender, and choose Properties.

Ok, cool, but when I click "tools=rules and alerts=new rules=start from
a blank rule" and I want to type in a domain name, it pulls up my contact
list and I'm not able to type in a domain name without creating a contact
first.

I only see "check messages when they arrive" and "check messages after
sending"???

If their domain is like abc.xyz.hello.com if I just put "hello" in the field
will that cover this domain?
