When I create the first message of the day with a file attachment, it
takes a long time to create the message. Subsequent messages load and
appear very quickly. Any ideas for getting this first one to load
quicker? I am using Outlook 2003.

Thanks

Are you using Word as your email editor? It takes longer to start up a new
email while it waits for Word to load.

Yes I am. Would that explain why the other emails with attachments run
quicker?

The first email you would create would have to wait for Word to start. As for
attachments, they may take some time to insert if you have alot of mapped
drives.
