Default Task list sorting?

I have entered a DUE DATE for several tasks. List sorts by this just fine.
If I enter a new task with a due date - in the past - seems like it should
sort to the top - but no - it sorts to just AFTER any others with dates.
How do I get a true sort by any due date?

Thx.

As a very general answer: click the column header to sort.

I have no idea what you are looking at by the way. Which version? Which
folder? Which view?

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!

Default Task list sorting?

Sorry I forgot my details!

Outlook 2003.

Looking at the Calendar view - with task list on the right side.

I have 3 tasks with 4/25 due date. They sort to top - clicking on the due
date header.

I want to add a past due task with date of 4/23. There is the problem - it
does NOT sort to top! It sits in the 4th position - below the 3 4/25 dates.

Hope that draws a clearer picture.

What you are describing is the TaskPad - that's what it says on the heading
in 2003.

Try customising it and setting your preferred grouping and sorting this way:

right click the column header (the grey bar where it says Subject or Due
date etc)
Customise Current View
Set the Group by.. choices
Set the Fields ....choices.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!

That doesn't get it either - anytime I add a date - in the past - it does
not go to the top! Grouped or not makes no dif. The group dated 4/30 sorts
to the top with balance of tasks assigned no due date. I then select 1 task
and enter the date 4/24 - and it moves to the middle of 4/30 and no date
group!

Other thoughts? Seems like a bug here.
