Default backup emails/settings

If I want to backup all my messages and everything... ie if I was going to
reformat or something

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

All I need to do is copy this folder and point to these .pst files on the
new installation right?

Now what about backup up connection settings and rules? I only have 1 email
account setup so if I had to it wouldn't be hard to set that up manually.

Depends what version of Office you have......post Office 2000 and prior to
office 2007 there's a "Save My settings" Wizard in MS Office-Office Tools.
For Office 2007 you need to use the User State Migration tool....

I have xp (2002) and I didn't see save my settings in any of the menus. I
even searched and all that came up was saving rules.

It's not in Outlook. You need to do Start-All Programs-Microsoft
Office-Microsoft Office Tools.....

I downloaded USMT301 but it won't install under Vista32. Is this tool
just for XP? and if so, What Can I use to backup my outlook 2007 files
under Vista?
