Attached word docs received are always read-only???
Hi,
How come all word docs sent to me are always in read-only?? Is there a way when I open these file they are not in "read-only" so i could edit them at once? I tried sending a file to myself which was not saved in read-only. And then when i opened it ..... yep... it's still a read-only doc. please help

Attached word docs received are always read-only???
Save it to your hard drive first then open it. If you're opening it from the

Opening an attachment fro the Reading Pane will make it be read-only. That said, I think it'a a mistake to open an attachment directly without saving it first if you intend to edit it. -- Brian Tillman
