Default Strange Outlook behavior

When I create a Calendar event, Outlook will remove the spaces between
the words in the subject line and add a semicolon to the end, much
like it's recognizing it as an email address. For example:

I'll type "Project Team Meeting" (without the quotes)
Outlooks edits it as "ProjectTeamMeeting;" when I step off the field

I searched all over the web for a solution, which I usually have luck
finding on my own, but couldn't find anything related to this problem.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm using Outlook 2003 11.6568.6568 SP2

Thanks in advance for the help,

Lisa

Exactly how are you initiating this new calendar event? By any chance are
you clicking "New | Meeting Request"?

Are you POSITIVE that the field you're typing in is the "Subject" field?

Yes, I'm 100% positive. (I work in software). I also noticed the same
thing his happening when I enter a new Outlook Contact. When I type in
the phone number, Outlook changes the number from xxx-xxx-xxxx to xxx-
xxx-xxxx; and underlines it as if it's creating a hyperlink.

I figured I may have changed some kind of properties setting but I
went throught them and can't figure out what it is.

Thanks,

Lisa

That's normal for phone numbers. Outlook resolves them just as it resolves
email addresses.

This is not normal behavior. I understand what you're saying, but this
isn't what Outlook is doing. There is something amiss across the
application, as it is removing spaces and adding semicolons after
subject lines in calendar entries, folder names and phone numbers in
Contacts.

Does it do it if you run Outlook in Safe mode? (start - run - outlook
/safe)

I didn't see the semi-colon you mentioned. You're correct that that is not
normal.
