Hello,
I've got duplicate contact entries in my Address book in Outlook 2003. How would I get rid of the duplicates without manually going through the list and deleting each one at a time? I've been using Outlook Express 6 address book and when I installed Outlook 2003 it gave me the option to import all my contacts and email messages and folders...did I do this correctly? Thanks to all who reply, Ismael |

Are you sure these are duplicates?
Perhaps you did not realize that the Outlook Address Book lists each electronic address for a Contact separately, including fax and mobile phone numbers. The Outlook Address Book contains no data. If you truly have duplicates, you would see them in the Contacts Folder also. Do you? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Ismael" wrote in message ... Thanks for the quick reply...It's people like you that make the computing
world more enjoyable...I have two things shown in the drop down box under the heading "Show Names from the:". They are "Contacts" and Outlook Address Book". Nothing shows up in the "Outlook Address Book". All my contacts that I can see are in the "Contacts". I've read and added the following to my registry (Not before I created a restore point using the system restore feature with WinXP Pro) obtained from the following website http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/oeshare.htm I've got duplicate contacts in my windows address book (WAB) and also in "Contacts" of Outlook 2003. How can I prevent these duplicates in the future and is there a program out there that can remove duplicate contacts in the WAB and "Contact" of Outlook 2003? You've introduced a completely different topic here. What does sharing your
Outlook Contacts Folder with the WAB have to do with your original question? There are a number of good duplicate checkers to remove duplicates from your Contacts Folder: http://www.slipstick.com/addins/contacts.htm#dupes -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Ismael" wrote in message ...
