I am wanting to copy all my 'Contacts' in Outlook 2003 from the work laptop
to my home PC. They are both using Outlook 2003. How can I do this? Also, is there an option to 'send/receive' on opening Outlook? Thanks! |

1) Export your contacts to a comma separated value file. (See File Import
and Export) 2) CTRL + ALT + S will bring up the send/receive settings dialog. (Check the box to check for mail every "x" minutes. This will force Outlook to do a send/receive at startup.) Since the contacts are kept in the same place as all your other Outlook data, if you're using a PST for storage, the easiest way is to simply copy the entire PST. See this: http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/backupandrestore.htm . If you're using Exchange (one of the things you should always mention when asking an Outlook question is the type of account your using and where your delivery location is), or if you want to move ONLY the contacts, then create a PST with FileNewOutlook Data File. Then copy the folder(s) you want to transport to the new PST. MOve it to the other machine as described in the URL above. Also, is there an option to 'send/receive' on opening Outlook? While viewing your Inbox, press ALT-CTRL-S to bring up the Send/Receive Group dialogue box. Check the option to check for messages every X minutes and make X no less than about 10 minutes. -- Brian Tillman |
