I would appreciate help if anyone had any ideas on these three
problems. I am a home user that sends/receives to an email server on the internet using pop3 and smtp. 1. My internet connection is intermittant, and sometimes if the connection has been down for a while, when it comes back online, I am able to receive email just fine, but not send. The only way I can make it send is to restart outlook. It's almost like the send function doesn't believe that I'm back online. 2. When I start outlook, it usually appears for a moment and then disappears as if the application has shut down. Then I start it again, and it starts just fine. But I think that there's that the first instance is actually still running, just not visible. Since I restart outlook often (see problem #1), when I look in the task manager, there might be five or more instances of outlook.exe running, though I can only see one. 3. I have a contact that used to have the email address X but I have changed the address to be Y. When I look at the address in my contacts, I see it correctly as Y. But whenever I add the contact to a distribution list, it still uses the old address X. I know it uses the old one because when I view the distibution list, there's a two- column list (the left column is the name and the right is the address) and it shows the old address in the right column. When I send an email to the distribution list, it sends it to the old address. Thanks in advance, John |

If running processess shows one or more instance of outlook.exe running,
either it failed to start correctly, or shutdown completely Initially use the office cd to repair OL, having ensured there is no outlook running process "Big Daddy" wrote in message ps.com...
