Default I thought Outlook 2003 "Rembered' Previous email addresses you typed?

Gurus,

Using Outlook 2003. I thought Outlook 2003 "remembered Previous email
addresses you typed? A lot of times, people I've emailed before, I'll type
their first name and Outlook doesn't remember the address. Instead I have
to manually bring up the address book. Or I have to type the last name and
Outlook does remember that. Any thoughts?
