Default iPhone & Outlook

I am considering purchasing an iPhone to replace my Dell Axim.

I use Outlook for my contacts and calendar. It is my understanding that you
have to go through iTunes to sync your data.

Can anyone tell me if this works... or if it is more of a pain than it is
worth? I could alway go Blackberry, Treo or some other option if this
doesn't work well.

Thank you in advance.

thanks much...

one other question... I also regularly use the TASKA and NOTES portion of
Outlook -- but don't see any reference to those syncing... Do they sync
also -- or not?

I really like many of the functions of the iPhone... but I have to maintain
my PDA functionality at the same time.

Sounds like this may not work for me... :-(

Thanks for your help.

Not with a iPhone. Only Calendar and Contacts, according to what I've read.
