Hello. I have had my Outlook Express 2006 via RoadRunner, and have not used
it to date. I also have an AOL account I am paying for, but have lots of information saved that I would like to move into Outlook or convert to word. I have tried everything that I could think of and nothing is working. HELP!! Thank you, |

Please tell me what the difference is before I attempt to move my files saved on AOL...thank you, thank you.....Lisa It's Outlook Express V6, but the way, not "2006". Both Office Outlook and Outlook Express are mail clients. Outlook Express is bundled with Windows through Internet Explorer and Office Outlook is, naturally, purchased as part of Office (or by itself as a own stand-alone application). Outlook is more than a mail client, however. It provides many functions of a Piersonal Information Manager, such as much more contact information, calendaring, task scheduling, and personal reminder notes. It integrates with Office Word to provide rich content in composed mail. It also allows, when a back-end server is present, the ability to share information. Outlook Express can do few of these functions, although it can interface to NNTP server-hosted newsgroups like this one. Both programs can be installed and used on the same PC, although one will require being designated as the default mail client. Both Outlook and Outlook Express support IMAP mail accounts, which is what AOL requires for accessing their servers via non-AOL clients. If you do not need the extra functionality of Outlook (i.e., all you need is an easy-to-use mail client), you may be better off sticking with Outlook Express. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Thank you. I have so much stuff hidden in files from previous crashes it is
not funny. But am still going to need the service of either AOL or RR (which RR is what I want to keep). Also, how do I get the AOL IMAP address? Called them a few times and they of course keep me on hold forever then disconnected me EVERY call. Thanx again, Lisa "Brian Tillman" wrote: Lisa wrote: Ok, now I am confused.
