on my work computer i can set recurring appointments, i cant om my laptop is
it different softwear or am i doing something wrong ? the attempt is to try to set recurring appointments 6 days apart ?

So, the exact same appointment you can create on your desktop, you can't create on the laptop. Well, *why* can't you? What actually happens?
