I would like to know how to have Outlook 2003 automatically correct simple
typing errors such as the word dearr to dear. I have the Auto Correct on but
I am still getting all these errors...any suggestions would be appreciated!

There is a BUG with the "Auto Correct Feature" in Service Pack 3 for Office
2003.
If you install the Service Pack 3, the feature will not work any more.

Workaround:
Use "Microsoft Word as your default e-mail editor"

Microsoft has accepted my bug request and they are working around a hotfix
for this problem.

Are you using HTML mail format? Auto correct doesn't seem to work in HTML
mail format. It does work when mail format is either Plain Text or Rich
Text.

You are right. The "auto correct feature" doesn't work with HTML mails. But
if you have installed the service pack 3 for office 2003 the "auto correct
feature" also doesn't work in PLAIN TEXT formatted mails. This feature is a
Bug ;-) ...and they (MS) are going to build a hotfix for that problem.
When I get information about the hotfix I will give you an update in this
thread.
