Hi,
I had an disastrous encounter with Service pack 1 for Visual Studio 2005 after which many programs stopped working. I got them working again by reinstalling the Service Pack 1 and I also noticed that all the buttons in Outlook 2003 had changed to ones with hard corners and the window background color instead of the soft-cornered, nice-looking ones. I've tried to repair the .NET Frameworks 2.0-3.0 and reinstalled 1.1. Do I need 1.0? Maybe I have some file missing or a trashed component but I don't know how to find out which one it is if it's connected to the .NET Frameworks at all. Any help would be greately appreciated! Regards, Linus |

If running Windows XP/Vista, try resetting your theme.

Close Outlook. Search for and rename outcmd.dat. Open Outlook and see if that
helps. If not, open Outlook with the /cleanviews switch: Start Run outlook.exe /cleanviews Let me know if that helps or not. -- Kathleen Orland - MVP Outlook Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ http://www.howto-outlook.com/ "Linus" wrote: Hi, I had an disastrous encounter with Service pack 1 for Visual Studio 2005 after which many programs stopped working. Hi,
Thanks for the help, but it didn't work. I'm having a feeling that the VS2005 update trashed some component or registry setting so that when Outlook is trying to load the component for the buttons and can't find it, it reverts to a fall-back button so that it can start. I would prefer not to reinstall Windows to get "my" buttons back. Regards, Linus On Oct 20, 5:51 pm, K. Orland wrote: Close Outlook. Search for and rename outcmd.dat.
