Default How can I eliminate old addresses in the drop down on To:line

When I begin to fill out the To: line after I type the first letter, every
email address I've ever sent with that letter appears in a drop down box. How
do I get rid of some of them but not all of them? Any advice is appreciated.

Remove individual addresses from the autocompletion cache by highlighting
the entry when presented in the suggested names list (use your arrow key to

Make them appear in the To... field, then use the down arrow and delete
button on the keyboard to remove the ones you don't want.
