Default Multiple SMTP Servers handled automatically

Hello all

I am trying to replace MS Mail with an internal POP server so I can run
Outlook 2000 in Internet Only mode for some users who have multiple
outside email accounts. The POP server for the internal-only mail uses
a fake domain name for it's accounts.

Is there a way that Outlook can be set up such that messages sent to one
specific domain go to one SMTP server (our internal fake one), and all
other mail goes to another?

I know you can choose which account to send on, but I'd like users to be
able to send messages to both internal and external without having to
create a separate message for internal users.

Any hints greatly appreciated in advance.

Thanks
MP

The only way to control the outgoing mail server is via the account, since
it is the account that contains this information. Why not let your internal
SMTP server do the intelligent routing? That should be a basic feature of
an SMTP server.
