Hi guys, some time ago I had a problem and Outlook shut down and I had
to run the pst repair. That caused my inbox to be renamed lost and found/8802. I have since deleted that file and created a new folder called Inbox that my mail goes to. Unfortunately when I deleted the lost/found folder, my rules went with it. When I now select Tools/Rules and Alerts, I get the error message "The operation failed. An object could not be found". So what to do? If I restore the backup I'm just back to having everything sit in that annoying lost and found folder. Is there any way to have Outlook treat my new Inbox as the real deal and let me apply rules? Thanks in advance for advice, Jo |

Were I faced with this, I'd make this old PST the delivery location again and start Outlook with the /resetfoldernames command switch if my version of Outlook supported it. (Who can say whether or not yours does, since you never mentioned your version.) If that didn't work, then, still using the old PST as delivery, I'd try exporting the rules, switching to a new PST, and imprting the rules again. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Would you be kind enough to enlighten me about the /resetfoldernames command switch? Jo |
