Default Help with PST file

Every now and then for whatever reason I get the message that my pst file
can't be accessed (Outlook 2000 SR1). So I try to create a new one because
I don't know how to fix the problem. After hours of trying, searching for
help, etc I get a new pst file. However now in my folders list I have
several other personal folders. Also I can never figure out how to get my
email addresses from the old personal folder (contact folder) to the newly
created one.
Can someone help me? I've got to say that much of this goes over my head.
For instance I keep reading where I'm supposed to go to the Tools menu and
click on "Services". I don't see a "Services" option anywhere!

So could someone help me understand;
Why does Outlook 2000 SR1 do this to me in the first place?

Next: How do I fix the "cannot find the pst file" problem (or how do I
create a new pst folder and not have multiple ones showing)?

And How do I copy my contacts from the old contacts folder to the newly
created one?

Thanks so much for your help and understanding with my problems.

Don...........

Default Help with PST file

You copy data from one Personal Folder to the other (default store)

Search for & locate scanpste.exe, the repair tool, and run it against all
the pst (data) files - several times, if it reports errors being fixed.
(Whilst OL is closed)
