I'd like to know how to alphabetize my Notes in Outlook 2003 within
categories. I already have them categorized, but how to I get them to show alphabetically in their categories? I have searched Microsoft's Web site and Google Groups and can't find an answer. Someone suggested sorting them by name, but name is not an option. Thanks for your help. Audrey |

Try sorting them before you group them. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

I'll create a new note, put a category to it, then save and close it and it goes into that category at the bottom, in order of when it was created. This is for Outlook at my job, I have dozens (maybe hundreds) of notes divided into umpteen categories, I need to alphabetize them so I can find one quicker. How can I do that? I certainly can't start all over and re-type them just to get them in alphabetical order. Thank you again. Audrey |

The subject of a Note will be the first line of the note. Make sure you choose good first lines that represent the subject of the note so when you alphabetize them they make sense. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Well, after some experimenting, I find this doesn't work as I expected. Instead, click ViewArrange ByCurrent ViewCustomize Current ViewReset Current ViewOK to get it back to what it should be. Then click Sort and change the "Sort items by" drop-down to "Subject". Click OK, then OK. This should give you what you want. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

YES! It worked! Bless your heart, Brian, now I can find my notes
quickly! I was almost afraid it would alphabetize them all into one big list, but it didn't, it alphabetized within the categories. Thank you thank you thank you!
