Default Outlook 2003 installing problem

I have been trying to make Outlook my default mail browser.
I completed all of the forms, and all of the boxes got ticked. But when a
test mail was sent - it came in to Outlook Express.
No way can I get mail to come in to Outlook.
I had stopped Express being my default.

A friend has been having the same problem.
Can anyone help, please?

Have you removed the mail account from Outlook Express? Why have Outlook
Express open if you are setting Outlook as your default?

You have to stop using Express, or set it not to send/receive, or delete the
email account.

I set Outlook as my default.
Express was closed. But when the mail didn't come into Outlook - then I
opened Express - and it was there.
I shall try deleting the email account in Express, and see what happens . .
.. knowing my luck - probably nothing!!!

Thank you both.

I have managed to sort the problem.
I clicked on - Tools - send & receive. No 2 had my isp name - so I clicked
on that, and a window opened. I clicked on - Inbox - and hey presto - my mail
came in to Outlook.
Now, everything is running fine.
