Default Loading Outlook 2000 e-malis, contacts, calendar, etc on a new computer running Octlook 2007

How do I transfer my Outlook 2000 contacts, calendar, e-mails, etc from my
old computer to my new computer running Outlook 2007.
I have 2 Personal Folders on Outlook 2000 - I exported/backed up the 2000
..PST files, but when I tried to restore them in Outlook 2007 itye only
imported 1 of the 2 Personal Folders and NO contacts or calendar data.
Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

As posted here MANY times - do NOT use the import/export function to move
data from one instance of Outlook to another.

As posted daily; with OL closed you copy the data files.
Locate them on the other HD (Documents folder, do not ovewrite any existing
data file)
Within OL2007 FileOpenData File.....browse to these & open
You would then copy data from old to the new unicode 2007 data file

The howto/backupandrestore link has been very useful. Thank you.

A couple of issues:
1. I copied the .pst file to a CD - I am unable to uncheck the 'read only'
box. I get error messages and even if I check 'ignore' or 'ignore all' the
file remains a read only file.
2. When I try to test the back-up file I receive the error message,
"Properties for this information service must be deined prior to use". When
I click OK I receive another error message, "File Access denied. You do not
have the permission required to access the file OUTLOOK.pst.

I am signed on as the Administrator on XP.

Any insights or suggestions how I might test the back up file?

You have to copy from Cd to HD, then remove the read only attribute in file
properties.
By default a file on a cd is read only

When you first setup OL you had an empty Personal Folders, you then added
your old data file.
You now have 2 personal folders, you expand the old one, then drag & drop
data from old to new

Re Contacts, show as an address bok

As DL said. However, keep in mind you can't copy the default folders
themselves. You must open those folders (i.e., Calendar, Contacts, Inbox,
Outbox, Sent Items, Tasks, Notes), select the contents with CTRL-A, then
click EditCopy to Folder, specifying the corresponding folder in the new
folder set. For the calendar, switch to a table view like By Category in
order for CTRL-A to work.

And how do I configure Contacts to use as an address book?

It should be configured correctly by default. If, after moving the contacts
to your default Contacts folder, if they don't show up in the address book,
see this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287563/en-us
