Outlook 2003 will not allow MS Word documents as attachments
Other types of files work ok, but .doc file are rejected with the exception. "You Do not have appropriate permissions to perform the operation" This is running on an XP Pro Box using POP/SMTP, so they are not using Exchange. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks Rick -- "You Kill One Bug,and Fifty Show Up For The Funeral" |

Hello Robert:
This error occurs when you click Send in ms word after attaching a word document. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Outlook 2003 2. Click New (MS Word loads) 3. In MS Word click Paperclip icon on toolbar and select a Word Document (.doc) 4. Click Send: This is when the error occurs. Oddly this only occurs when using .doc files, .txt and other types work fine! Thanks In Advance Rick -- "You Kill One Bug,and Fifty Show Up For The Funeral" |

This makes me assume that you have a virus scanner that integrates with
Outlook and does outbound message and attachment scanning. Disable the Outlook integration of your virus scanner and try again. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "RL Smith" wrote in message ...
