Domain Users just can't close the application. They click on x box on top right corner, click File\Exit... nothing happens... Only way to close the application, is CTRL+ALT+DEL then kill the process. Any ideas? Norman |

Are you using policies? I don't know if there is one to prevent accidental closing (which would be the reason for the policy). I don't have any policies configured. The problem went away when I change Domain User to Power User/Administrator on the local desktop. I think it's some registry bug with Outlook 2007. I will test if reverting user back to Domain User will leave the registry setting intact and resolve this issue. Norman |

Norman After killing off *all* instances of outlook.exe in the Processes tab of Task Manager (hint: they should see if more than one instance is running), have them startup Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe") and then exit. If it exits okay, they have an add-on that won't shutdown. Add-ons are loaded when Outlook loads so they can interfere with Outlook starting up. Add-ons are requested to unload when Outlook wants to exit so they can interfere with Outlook shutting down. |

Here's the fix, found it on another forum of Norman's.
Remove Windows Update KB946983 1. Go to Control Panel - Programs (Add/Remove) 2. Click on the "Show Updates" check box at the top 3. Browse to the updates under Office 2007 4. Select KB946983 & click remove Once removed it instantly worked for me on all my machines. "VanguardLH" wrote: Norman Zhang wrote: My Domain Users cannot close Outlook 2007 with their domain profile.
