I have outlook connector version 12.0.4518.1068 installed with officeXP.
I get a SyncLimit error and mail does not download. Deleting and re-creating the MAPI accounts (as per the instructions in KB941198) fixes the problem for 1 day. I do not wish to delete and recreate all live mail accounts every day. I can't ask for help via the online support page because it cannot find the productID number, and the one in the Outlook Connector about box is invalid (let alone being 3million characters long and you can't copy and paste it. Maybe a slight exageration on the length). How are we supposed to report problems? If a problem cannot be reported does this mean it's fixed in MS speak? |

Read the installation requirements? The Outlook Connector is not compatible
with Outlook 2002/XP. The SyncLimit error means you've have reached your sync limit (yes, sometimes errors are easy to decipher). Too many sync operations (like a daily rebuild of your cache) can result in your account being blocked for up to 30 days. There is a Contact Us link on pretty much every page on microsoft.com. There's also a phone number listed there for your region. You're automatically rerouted when choosing Outlook Connector- Contacts Us as well. There is also an on-line help request form here; https://support.live.com/eform.aspx?...ail&ct=eformts I think you have plenty of options now ;-) -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "Mick Doherty" ] wrote in message ... If there's a compatibility issue then why was it allowed to install after
having checked system requirements? Other MS products won't install if requirements are not met. After scouring the net I see that this issue is plaguing users of all office versions on all Windows versions. When is the cache rebuilt? I check mail of 3 accounts maybe 3 or 4 times a day. When I can have upto 100 accounts with my live mail, I don't think thats too often, do you? What's the limit for checking mail, is that documented anywhere? If my accounts are blocked for upto 30 days then how does deleting and re-creating the accounts in outlook resolve the issue? I don't want phone support I want free online support. Following the links leads you to believe that free online support exists. The contact us page leaves no option other than phone support as nothing else works. I tried the Outlook Connector-- Contact us link but this could not find the product key when it examined my system and would not accept the ProductID that the outlook connector about box displays. The support link you supplied maybe useful. Contacting this group was an attempt ot get the issue resolved, or at least have it acknowledged as a known issue, since none of the other contact options I could find were of any help. Thank you for your help so far. Looking forward to your next sarcastic response. "Roady [MVP]" t wrote in message ... Read the installation requirements? There is a simple answer to my query.
Don't use outlook connector, use Windows Live Mail. Unlike outlook connector, it's easy to setup, easy to use and it works. "Mick Doherty" ] wrote in message ... Outlook Connector works perfectly OK here on Outlook 2007 on Vista, so do we assume this is just an Outlook XP problem? |

It may well be an incompatibility with XP. When googling for answers, I
found forum questions asked about this problem occuring in Outlook 2007 with Vista. They were fairly old queries though and so it may have been resolved for this combination. If you're happy with the product and it works to your satisfaction then stick with it. If, however, you do run into the same problem, then make sure that you back up your mailboxes before deleting and recreating them. Windows Live Mail is free and so it wouldn't hurt to try it anyway. It can be used with pop mail accounts too. -- Mick Doherty "Gordon" wrote in message ... "Mick Doherty" ] wrote in message ... There is a simple answer to my query.
