Hi, I am a new user for Outlook 2007, but have used Outlook for the last 10
years or so, so know it pretty well. When I try to type a message (in fact it is happening again right now so perhaps it is not an Outlook problem!), the text sort of changes, and my cursor keeps jumping to a previous line. I can only liken it to the predictive text (is that what they call it?) on mobile phones. It is very frustrating. This is a new laptop with Vista Home Premium and Office Pro 2007. Just in case it was something odd that I was doing, I have just hopped onto mmy old laptop and did not experience this wierd problem there. I wonder if I have inadvertently hit a key - ??? I have logged off and on again, in case there was a problem that could be fixed with a restart, but it is still happening, even as I type now. I would be VERY grateful for any suggestions. Many thanks. -- Trish |

Is it a Dell laptop? It might be something with the media direct
application. Do you have a microphone turned on and is the environment noisy? The computer could be "hearing" commands and jumping you around. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com "Trish" wrote in message ... Thanks Diane. It is not a Dell, but a HP Compaq Presario notebook running
Vista Home Premium and MS Office Pro 2007. I checked re microphone etc but it is not that. I have been in touch with HP who think it is something to do with the touchpad sensitivity (especially since the problem was not specific to Outlook after all) and we downloaded another driver which (I hope) seems to have fixed the problem. I do appreciate you taking the trouble to respond to my question. -- Trish "Diane Poremsky {MVP}" wrote: Is it a Dell laptop? It might be something with the media direct application.
