When messages come in I can create rules to aotmatically sort and move
them into folders, is there a way I can do this with messages that I have sent? I like to keep track on my conversations and I am getting tired of moving messages out of the sent folder. If there is no way to automate this then maybe someone from Microsoft can take this a suggestion to improve Outlook. Al |

You can create rules for Sent messages in Outlook 2007, but not sure which
version you are using. "Alfred Kaufmann" wrote: When messages come in I can create rules to aotmatically sort and move them into folders, is there a way I can do this with messages that I have sent? Those rules don't allow me to tell Outlook to put my new message "To Someone" into folder "Someone". If you are replying to messages in folders other than the inbox, see tools, options, email options, advanced options - there is an option to sent items with the original if not in the inbox. Thanks this works great for replies and most of my messages are replies. Al |

Right, it won't work with variables - the folder needs ot exist and the rule
needs to use it (and the email address). -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "Alfred Kaufmann" wrote in message news ![]() On Mon, 9 Jun 2008 17:49:30 -0400, "Diane Poremsky {MVP}" wrote: You can create after sending rules (look in rules wizard for the option - its usually at the bottom). Look at Tools Options E-mail Options Advanced E-mail Options In
folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message. Is that what you want? Gregg Hill "Alfred Kaufmann" wrote in message ... Gregg Hill Yes, that works great for replies. I guess new messages still need to be manually moved out of the SENT folder? Al |
