You cannot, excepting via a read receipt which they can ignore, if their
mail server accepts the reciept in the first place "GreenEyes" wrote in message ... how can i set up email so i can tell if the recipient has recieved/opened it without having them actually reply back to me?? |

Hi GreenEyes,,
did you try the "read/receipt" option in Outlook? "About tracking when messages are delivered or read" http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ou...421911033.aspx Maybe it helps. -- Oliver Vukovics Share Outlook without Exchange (Vista Ready): Public ShareFolder Synchronize Outlook between PC and Notebook: Public SyncTool http://www.publicshareware.com "GreenEyes" schrieb im Newsbeitrag ... how can i set up email so i can tell if the recipient has recieved/opened it without having them actually reply back to me?? |

Unless they choose or configure their e-mail client to send back a read receipt, you won't know. You could try using a web beacon just like the spammers but that fails since most e-mail clients are configured by default to block externally linked content. You can send a read receipt *request* (a header gets added to your outbound e-mail). THEY get to decide if they will send it to you. Of course, you could be polite and ASK them to respond. Now configure your e-mail program so it always and automatically sends the read receipt e-mail whenever requested. Also configure your e-mail client to allow all externally linked content. If your e-mail client makes use of the IE security zones, make sure to change to the Internet security zone for minimal security while reading e-mails. Now others can do to you want you want to do to others. |
