I just got OL 2003 setup this weekend as the default email on this old
XP SP2 machine, and I think I read somewhere I now need to make sure the OE6 mail is disabled + something else needs to be done in order to use OE to receive newsgroup emails? Is that right, or was that comment related to an earlier version of Outlook? Thanks... TGH |

Not necessarily - if you have OL set up as the default mail client
that's a good start. I would remove the e-mail accounts from OE6 (Tools | Accounts.. if I recall correctly) just to avoid confusion. -- -Ben- Ben M. Can you point me to a website that explains where I might still need to use OE though for newsgroups and/or the couple of yahoo groups I belong to? |

Yes you will, because Outlook on it's own does not do News reading as such. However, Yahoo groups are NOT Usenet newsgroups and use either email or web access AFAIK, so you don't need a news reader for them. If you subscribe to "proper" news groups, then if in Outlook you click on Go-News (you will have to add the News command in the Customise dialog), that will open OE in Outlook Newsreader mode. HTH |
