Default MSN Account Info Needed.

I have a free e-mail account at msn.com. I had to install a new hard drive
and lost the info to access the account.
Does anyone know what msn.requires? Eg: POP3, HTML, IMAP and what the
parameters are, for incoming/outgoing mail.
His highness MS will not tell me without charge.

Thanks.

if it was a freebie, no pop3. HTTP may work, or the outlook connector.

This freebie that you have with MSN is it a legacy POP3(grandfathered account) or is it the other as was pointed out by Diane in her reply to you

I do not know. I had the account for many years. MS told me to use Outlook
Connector in Outlook. But I prefer to use Outlook Express which is faster
and much more stable. Any ideas what the parameters are?

Thanks

Access to free Hotmail (and presumably MSN) email addresses in OE has been
discontinued from June 08. You can download and install the successor to OE,
Windows Live Mail, which will, AFAIK, connect to free Hotmail and MSDN email
addresses.
Have a look he

Down load the new Live Mail client. It replaces Outlook Express but is very
similar.
