I'm using Outlook 2002. My PST file exceeded 2GB and Outlook stopped
working. I managed to delete some stuff from it and get it functioning again, but I don't dare let it download any new emails. Is there a solution for this? Can I set up a new email account? Start a new folder? Archive the existing emails? Thanks for any help, Huck |

Archiving & compacting would be the first things I'd try if you've got the
PST working again. "Huck Rorick" wrote in message ... I'm using Outlook 2002. My PST file exceeded 2GB and Outlook stopped working. Start by:
1. Empty the deleted items folder. 2. Delete old unwanted emails. 3. Remove attachments from emails and file them on your hard drive. 4. Archive mail items older than say 6 months. If you need access to them, you can always open your archive file and access them. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. In addition to the advice my fellow MVPs have given you - you might also
consider upgrading at least to Outlook 2003 when possible. It supports PST files larger than 2GB. -- -Ben- Ben M.
