Default MS Outlook and no images (no blocking)

MS Outlook 2007 (12.0.6316.5000)

There was no problem with images downloading in HTML emails. A couple days
ago Outlook stopped downloading images without any configuration change.
When I manually right click and select downloading images or even unblock it
globally I can see only placeholders for images (red 'x' sign in the
square). The same emails on another machine are displayed properly.
Sometimes I can see some images (two or free) but the rest of them aren't
displayed. What can cause the problem?

The Outlook Secure Temp folder might need emptying. See
http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/securetemp.htm for more info.

It doesn't help. It still can see mostly image place holders.

I'm not very good in tranposing version number to what service pack/hotfixes
are installed, so how far have you updated office/outlook 2007 (or better
stated, are the machines you have all patched the same)? Reason I ask is
that I remember a security patch that won't permit certian graphic files
from Macintosh systems from displaying/opening.
