Default search telephone numbers in outlook 2007

I have posted this question before but no one seems to know the answer. I
cant believe nobody has a solution.

Previous post =

I cant seem to search for telephone numbers which have been typed into an
appointment.

Particularly once they have been altered into a hyperlink ie when you type
tel:0111122223 followed by either a space or return in an appointment the
number turns blue and underlined and gets altered to a hyperlink.

But the numbers become invisible in search - even using the advanced search
criteria?

Can telephone numbers / hyperlinks be searched? you could search for tel
No's in earlier versions of outlook what am I doing wrong.

Thank you

KC

Search in 2007 searches the beginning of words so you need to search for
Tel: plus however many numbers you need.

Diane,
In my Office Outlook 2007, each telephone number is proceded with; Home:,
Business:, Mobile:, etc. None, including, "Tel: (702) nnn-nnn" can be found.

I have typed the following formats to no avail(number faked): Home: (702)
555-1212
Business: 1-800-555-1212
Mobile: (702) 555-1212
Home: 555-1212
Tel: 555-1212
Tel: 1-800-555-1212

None bring results.

Thanks Diane

How would you search for part of a number. ie if you only knew part of the
telephone number (and that part could be in the middle or the end)

Charles,

This is concerning searching a telephone number which has been inputed into
an appointment, not a contact. Open an appointment then type tel:000000 or
whatever number you wish, then (crucially) hit space or return and the
number is converted to a hyperlink which if you then click it and have a
modem conected will call the number.

She's looking in the notes field, not the phone # fields.

in 2007, expand the search box using the chevrons and enter the number in
the field you want to search in.
