Default Adding Contacts in Oultook 2007 Causes it to freeze

Hi all,

Running Outlook 2007 on Vista Business Premium. Every time i try to
add a contact (i.e. fill out all the information and click Save &
Close) Outlook freezes. I have added a new profile. I have uninstalled
and reinstalled. I have wiped the computer clean and reinstalled Vista
and Office. The problem has not gone away

I started having this problem with this user when he was running
Office 2003 on Windows XP. I have seen some problems with AMD Phenom
processors and the current system has one but that doesn't explain the
trouble on the prior system. The contacts are shared and his assistant
(also running Vista Business and Outlook 2007) also cannot add
contacts to his folder. I have checked the permissions and she has
editor permissions.

This computer is running the Blackberry Desktop software but his
assistant is not so I would tend to rule that out but you never know.

If anyone has any suggestions I am all ears ...

Thanks,
Don

Update: As a workaround I have discovered that I can add a contact by
typing in only the name and saving it. I can then go back into that
contact and add all the other info (address, email, phones, fax, etc).
While this works, it is a pain in the rear and is not how Outlook
should work. Any light that can be shed on this problem is appreciated.
