Default Cannot open Outlook. Why?

The first message I get is: Your microsoft exchanger server is unavailable.

So I press "work offline" and get this message: Unable to open your default
e-mail folders. The information store could not be opened.

Then the whole thing just closes. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?
Thanks!
