Default Alarms/Reminders

How do you turn off alarms and reminders. I don't need them and they are
annoying.

Do you mean uncheck 'default reminder'?

I just don't want to be reminded at all about anything, and stop having the
boxes coming up reminding me of appointments.

That stops them for future events - see

are already set.
