Default Error message in Outlook

I have just got a blackberry and am trying to set up outlook to use with it.
I have had my computer 5 years, but never tried to use outlook before. When I
click on it, I get the following error message:

"The extension configuration file c:\Program Files\microsoft
office\office\addins\fldpub.ecf could not be installed. There is an error in
the syntex or format of the file"

This is then followed by

"Unable to alter your defualt email folders. Create a new profile, make it
your default by selecting it, and then clicking Always use this Profile".

When I try to open the 'mail' option in control panel I am told "you need
more memory and system resources. try closing some windows and try again".

How do I set it up so I can use outlook? I'm sorry if there is a simple
answer to this question!

You can go ahead and rename or delete that fldpub.ecf file and then Outlook
should work fine.

Renaming does not work -- error message just uses the new name.

What version of Outlook? What version of Windows?

fldpub.ecf is for netfolders - they were buggier than a swamp and only
supported in outlook 2000.

Default Error message in Outlook

I'm new here. Just found how to post but not how to start a new topic.

I have a problem using Outlook 2002 with vista home basic.

It just started. My email was hijacked. They were using it to send spam. I called Comcast and they blocked all sending but I could receive email. They unblocked it but still not able to send email. Comcast Abuse Dept. told me that my problem now is a Micro Soft problem.
This is the problem; I get a big red box that says: "You don't have appropriate permission to perform this operation".

I started to use Windows Mail and it works fine after Comcast unblocked it! Just wondering if anyone has any idea how to fix this other then going to Micro Soft!

I did like Outlook because I could use WORD as my email editor. I can't find a way to use it with Windows Mail. Windows Mail doesn't have the corrections that WORD has. I miss that.
I know I could compose in WORD and then copy & past in the Mail email but that's not very efficient use of time.

Any comments would be appreciated.

As you seem to be using Windows Mail, just click on New Post on your
Toolbar.
And please post in TEXT only, not HTML.

Thank you

See http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/vista.htm

At what point do you get that alert message?
