Try turning on logging and see what a send/receive does.

"Zabdiel" wrote in message ... I'm using Outlook 2003 to check 3 email accounts. I'll let's call them: All 3 are POP/SMTP accounts, all the settings for each are the same. Last week all 3 were working. On Friday I had to change the password on . Since then I get 3 copies of any emails sent to and no emails sent to either support email account. The support accounts are monitored by other people in my office who do recieve emails (we've got them set to leave the emails on the server for 10 days). If I hit reply to each of the three emails recieved on my account then outlook will try to send a reply for each of my 3 accounts - as if it thinks they have come from my 3 accounts. I don't get any errors when I do a send receive. I've installed Thunderbird and that downloads emails on all 3 accounts fine. Does anyone know what the problem could be? |

Today I have set one of accounts ) so that it is
not included in an automatic send recieve. I now only get two copies of my emails. When I do a manual send recieve I get the 3rd copy. I'm fairly sure that the duplicate emails and the two support accounts not worknig are have the same cause. |

In the "Advanced" tab, "Internet E-mail Settings" (via Accounts), what
do you have for "Leave a copy of messages on the server" (checked or unchecked)? NOTE: This option works differently depending on what your POP server is. On Novel Servers (which we use where I work), your downloaded email is not immediately deleted from the server mailbox, IF the IT Admin has set it to delete/remove emails at the end of the day (usually just before they run a backup). The email is just marked as downloaded. Therefore at the Outlook end, IF you UNCHECK "Leave a copy of messages on the server" you should NOT get duplicate email downloads. This Novel method is to allow WEB email clients (GroupWise for example) to view their email even after they are downloaded to Outlook. The upshot is only on your PRIMARY PC, Outlook should have "Leave a copy of messages on the server" UNCHECKED. All others should have it checked. -- =============== Master Blaster Computer System Specialist IT Technician "Zabdiel" wrote in message : Today I have set one of accounts ) so that it is not included in an automatic send recieve. However if I uncheck it for then I still get 3 copies of my email (or 2 if I disable one of the support accounts). I don't get any emails on either support account. I've just tried deleting one of th support accounts and adding it back on but that doesn't help either. Getting duplicates is anoying but not getting my support emails is a killer. Thunderbird works but doesn't have all the features of outlook. |
