I have been using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 to handle e-mail.´
I'm not interested in any of the other functions in Outlook. I now have a new computer with Windows Vista. On it, I've installed the home version of Office 2007, in which Outlook is missing. However, the standard program Windows Mail is quite enough for my needs. But I have not found out if it is possible to import messages and address book from Outlook. Does anyone know? I would greatly appreciate any help. Sincerely, Gösta Knochenhauer |

But I have not found out if it is possible to import messages and address book from Outlook. It is. You have two options. Either import mail and addresses to Outlook Express on the old machine and do this: Copy ALL the mail files from OE (including the one called Folders.dbx) and paste them into a folder you have created on your new machine, to which you have read/write permissions. A folder within your Documents folder would seem to be the best place. Then in Windows Mail, do File-Import-Messages, highlight Microsoft Outlook Express, and click next. Make sure that "Import from an OE6 Store directory is checked, (that's why you need to copy the folders.dbx file, because that tells WM the folder is an OE message store) and click on OK. Browse to the folder you created. Or, install Outlook on the new machine (the trial version will do), transfer your data from the old machine as he http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ou...771141033.aspx http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm and then within WM import.
