I backed them up to a disc and moved them to the new computer as stated in
the Microsoft office help. Everything is in my new Outlook that should be
there except each time I open it, there is another set of files of the same
type. Everything is being duplicated.

It is obvious, however, that you did not "move your files with no
problem." You used the wrong procedure and now have a corrupt profile.
Create a new profile and read the Help files to learn the proper procedure
to migrate data:

That doesn't tell us anything. The answer lies in how you "moved them" and
how you configured Outlook to use your former PST file as its default. You
did not follow the directions I posted.
