I ran OUTLOOK in safe mode and sent the test
message......it appeared in the web browser but
not in the OUTLOOK inbox.

When you say "sent a test message" did you just
"send a message" or did you use the "Test
Account Settings" function in the Email Account
setup dialog box?

Please tell us the version of the application

your OS, Service Pack level
and the FULL contents of any error message(s)

This morning it was "Test Account Settings"
I've done both. The outcome is the same.

But what error message did the test account settings show? There must have
been one if the test message was never received...

There is no error message. All functions were
completed.
The test message appeared in Internet Explorer but
not in OUTLOOK's inbox. If I created a test
message addressed to myself it does not appear in
OUTLOOK's inbox. Only in IE.

I did receive another spam email at 10:15AM, about
25 minutes ago that appeared in my OUTLOOK inbox
but not in IE.

If you're accessing the same mailbox at Yahoo with IE and with Outlook,
there's simply NO WAY that Outlook could receive a message of any kind, spam
or otherwise, and not have had it appear in the server's Inbox (or in the
case of Yahoo and depending on your SpamGuard settings, the Spam folder
instead). EVERYTHING filters through that mailbox.

I assume you mean Yahoo's mailbox.

I will turn off log off Yahoo mail on IE and send
a test message.

Thanks for your response......I be back soon...ATT
Yahoo mail seems a lot slower than Bellsouth's
POP3 mail.

there....

I have 20 messages in my IE in box and 4 in the
spam folder.

Both messages I originated appear in IE

This problem is not unique to my primary computer.

I set up this same email account at ATT. YAHOO.
COM on another computer that never had an email
account.

The account was successfully installed and
succeeded logging in and sending the test message.

The test message did not appear on that computer's
OUTLOOK inbox nor did it appear on this machine's
inbox.

However it did appear on IE ATT/ Yahoo mail.

I becoming paranoid...I think they want me to see
all the ads they publish.

My conclusion is that this problem has nothing to
do with OUTLOOK and is a YAHOO mail problem.

Just a thought - do you have to TELL Yahoo that you want to access via POP?
In ordinary Yahoo accounts you have to do that. In Yahoo webmail it's in
Settings-POP and Forwarding...

Um, IE doesn't have an Inbox. Do you mean the Yahoo Inbox? If you start
Outlook and perform a send/receive, does the Send/Receive Status dialogue
show Outlook receiving anything?
