Maybe the Contact is 'saved as' in a different format
Depending on version of Outlook, I believe, you can search the address book
using two different methods

How do you get the contacts file and the pst address book to have the
same data?? Just realized that when I start an email address it finds a
name I wanted with no problem but when I went to the address book that
name was not in there. I would like the address book to have all the
contacts in it also. Is there some way to sync the two??

The Addressbook and Contacts are already. The addressbook is only a view
of your Contacts folder. What you are seeing that is different is the
Autocomplete file
