Every time I exit Outlook I am asked "are you sure you want to delete all of
the items and subfolders in the deleted items folder?" How can I configure it
so that I won't receive this prompt every time?

tools, options, other tab. you can configure autoarchive to empty the
deleted items (and junk folder) instead.
